fun with Grandma Michele

What a fun week we had with Grandma Michele...we were all sad she had to go! :) But time flies...so next May will be here before we know it! Although I've already posted a few posts about what we've been doing, I thought I'd post a few more random pictures that I took too...

We went on a few different walks with grandma while she was here... Daddy and and Isaiah went on a walk with walking sticks one day while she was here...and Isaiah wanted to go on one again with grandma.

A few of the walks ended up at the park... Levi and Grandma hung out on the picnic table.

One night we went out to the Stuffed Olive so she could try her first ever martini... She tried Peanutbutter Cup, I tried Grape Tootsie pop (I'd definitely recommend it!) and Mark had a Watermellon something... yummy!
Out for lunch at the Pita Pit with Aunt Kelly.Grandma got to feed Levi several times... And give him (and Isaiah) a bath a couple times too. We even made it to Four Queens for some delicious Ice Cream!
We also taught her a new card game -- golf! Sorry for the bad picture! We had a great week...THANKS FOR COMING GRANDMA MICHELE!!! We miss you already!

Isaiah's new watch.

A few months ago my watch band broke and so I'm always asking someone "what time is it?" or I'll tell Isaiah while we are playing, "I'll be right back I have to go see what time it is." Just a few days before Grandma came, Isaiah started asking questions about the time or when I asked the time, he'd then ask the time too. I showed him how the clock shows us the time and how we can look at the microwave to see what time it is too. Every now and then he'll ask, "what time is it?" or "what does the clock say?" I show him the numbers on the clock and he acts like he kind of understands... Can little kids understand the concept of time? Probably not :)

While Grandma Michele was here visiting she bought Isaiah is very own watch! It is so cute...it has little airplanes and clouds on it...

So what a great gift for him right now!

Opening the gift!

Let's put it on!

look at his little grin! :)

Comparing watches with daddy.
Thanks Grandma Michele for the cool watch!

PS The day Isaiah got his watch, Mark surprised me and got my watch fixed!! So sweet!

fun at the park with grandma

The other night we decided to go for a little walk, despite the dark clouds and the little raindrops here and there. Grandma pushed the the stroller and let Isaiah tell her which direction to go...and guess where we ended up--the PARK! :) This tends to happen a lot--that's what we get for living where the park is a 5 minute walk away!
Isaiah and Levi had lots of fun letting Grandma push them on the swings...
After awhile, Isaiah turned into Superman and was flying high in the sky. I didn't get a great picture of it, but he was putting his arms and legs out just like he was flying.
Then it was time for the merry-go-round.
I guess a son is never too old to let his mommy play with him at the park :) (I suppose this is good news for me!:)
Isaiah decided he was ready for the "big" park next. The park we go to has 3 little parks in 3 different areas...so Grandma, daddy, Uncle Matthew, and Isaiah went off to the other park while Levi had supper... Then they raced back to get us.
Look who won! ha ha
Hooray for the park!

Memorial Day Weekend

For Memorial Day weekend, we went to spend the holiday with my sister and her family. For some reason I wasn't in the mood to take too many pictures so I didn't ever post a blog about it...

We had a great time at her house--Thanks Nichole and Jay for having us! We went on walks, to the park, went geocaching, garage saling, and just hung out together. It was a nice relaxing weekend.

Uncle Jay has a big pond out back that they keep fish in ... and Isaiah loves it! He often asks to go see Uncle Jay and the fish.
We also dressed the three grandkids in the matching Hawaii shirts that my mom and dad got for them in Hawaii in March. Liahna is wearing shorts for the first time too!

Adventureland!!!

Mark's mom, Grandma Michele, is here to visit! We are all happy to see her... with all of our busy schedules and things going on, we decided to spend her first full day (and the only day everyone was completely free) at Adventureland...

The weather was absolutely perfect! Everything was great except Isaiah wasn't feeling good...I knew it would happen, we have been sick-free at our house for way too long, so of course the night before grandma was coming, Isaiah started coughing and sniffling, and by Saturday he had a full blown cold...but he was such a trooper, and we had a GREAT day. Thanks Mom and Dad for watching Levi while we went off to the rollercoasters!

We arrived at the park a few minutes before it opened at 10--if you know Mark, you know he likes to be the first ones in the park--so we made it just in time.
Here we are waiting for the gates to open.
We decided our first ride should be one that Isaiah would LOVE...Mark picked bumper cars...and it was the perfect start!!
Isaiah spotted the Semi-truck ride that was right outside the bumper cars...he REALLY wanted to ride it...so of course he did!
Grandma and Daddy got to be his passengers.
He loved it so much that when the worker asked if he wanted to do it again, he said, "yes!" ...this time Uncle Matthew and I rode along.
We picked a great day to go! We were one of the few people at the park that day so we got to go on lots of the rides a couple times in a row...the Space Shot was the first big ride for Mark, Matthew and I (Grandma and Isaiah found a firetruck to ride) it was so slow that we got to ride it three times in a row without even getting off the ride!

While we took a food break, Isaiah spotted the big waterslide ride and really wanted to give it a try...so we walked up to the ride and he changed his mind, Daddy and Matthew decided to ride it without us, but when Isaiah saw they were still going to go, he wanted to go after all...After riding it, I can't believe they let little kids ride this one! Mark had to hold on to him tight...there is not a single safety belt or anything to hold you in! I'm not so sure Isaiah would want to do it again...at least not this year!
Grandma Michele, Mark and Matthew all went on the Outlaw together while Isaiah and I checked out the covered wagon and watched...the boys decided to go again, but Grandma came back to hang out with us...
Isaiah went on several more rides...
He flew an airplane.
Isaiah and Daddy had fun riding the dragon.
Rode in the tea cups with grandma.
Went on his first ever ride (last year) again, the ladybugs, three times! First he picked a green one...then when we went back later, he picked yellow, but decided on the second round, he wanted green again.
Later, he wanted to go back to the bumper cars, so we did that one again too.
Isaiah wasn't in the mood to eat anything (including ICE CREAM--daddy offered it to him twice and both times he said no!!)...until 1:30 in the afternoon...we stopped to watch the "Sugar and Spice" show and daddy brought Isaiah a hot dog and fries, and Grandma brought him a Sunny D...
He was happy about the juice... look at thos droopy eyes :(
Good thing he wasn't very hungry! He shared his fries with a little chipmunk that hung around our table...he got right next to Isaiah's chair, within a few inches of his feet, and begged for food! So of course we fed him! :)

While we were feeding the little guy, Uncle Matthew got to be a part of the show! They picked him out of the audience to come up on stage to be a part of their song. He was really excited about it! ha ha
Then around 2, Isaiah was so so tired, that Mark reclined the stroller back and told Isaiah to take a rest, and he did! He layed right down and fell asleep!
We strolled him into the Bingo hall and we took turns playing bingo to let him get a good nap in.
Guess who got bingo twice? :) yep, me!!
Isaiah even got to meet Bernie the Benard, Adventureland's macot! He was a little shy at first, but gave him a big hug and a high five!
It was then time for our last ride of the day, the Train...but really it wasn't because Isaiah talked daddy into riding the Carousel with him again...
Us on the train.
Inside the train station is a candy shop. Isaiah got to pick out any piece of candy that he wanted, look what he chose! A swirl sucker...he ended up hardly eating any of it, but he really thought it was cool. Notice his new shirt too... Thanks Great Grandma!
Finally, Isaiah went on the "daddy ride." and rode through the park on Mark's shoulders.
What a wonderful day!
I can't wait to go back again next year (with Levi, too!)!

a (much needed) haircut.

I'll admit it, I still have a tough time with haircuts ...Isaiah has had many haircuts by now, but every time it's time for another one I cringe...and put it off for like 2 months! :) His hair is naturally curly and I hate to see the curls come off...and after the cut, he looks so much older...

but... even I realized it was time (or way past time) for a haircut this time... so that's what we did this morning.

not the best picture, but my camera decided to break while we were there.
before the cut:after the cut (at home, with the spare camera...):
"get the back too, mama"
"and the side"
What a sweet little boy.

PS Make sure to take a close look at Isaiah's shirt...Great Grandma from Florida bought it for him!! Thank you Great Grandma!!
