AWANA talent show night.

Our big boys were in the AWANA program all school year long starting the first week of September at a church just down the street from our house.  It was almost every Wednesday night and with the exception of the night of the Harlem Globetrotters Isaiah made it every single night and Levi just missed one more night for his school concert.  Wow - I made sure that I praised their dedication!   Levi was a cubbie and had lots of fun learning about God and Jesus in a way made just for little preschool minds.  He learned his verse each week and we made it through his assignment most weeks.  For talent night the cubbies had a balloon dance where they danced and batted balloons around on stage.  Super cute.  They were dismissed afterwards for a snack and some preschool fun.
Isaiah was in the Sparks group and loved that too.  He made it through the entire book and about half way back through it as review.  He was always repeating his weekly verse (or verses depending on how much he learned that week) and would always have me go over it with him on the car ride there.

The sparks sang a song for us before the talent show began.  It was tricky getting a good picture of Isaiah and his friends - he was standing next to his good friend Jayda (stripes) and right next to her was his other good friend Vivi (red hair).
The week before the talent show Isaiah comes out of his Sparks class with the biggest smile and excitement in his eyes and says, "I signed up to play a song on the piano in the talent show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  I just looked at him wide eyed and said, "you did!?!?!?!"  You see, I'd love it if he knew how to play the piano.  I'd love to own a piano.  I'd love to still play piano, but we just aren't there right now.  We do have a keyboard that Isaiah likes to play around on, but has never had the patience for me to sit down and teach him anything, but we had 1 week to learn... and we encouraged Isaiah the whole week through and he did it!  He learned how to play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by memory and I don't think Mark or I could have been more proud!  Luckily Isaiah was 2nd on the talent show list so he didn't have to sit and be nervous for long.  He had Mark go up to the stage with him.
And he did an amazing job.  WAY TO GO ISAIAH.
I love that the boys are in AWANA and they are excited for it to start again this year!
