So after we had a great day in Clear Lake we realized that we were only another hour or so away from my friend Kammy who was staying at her camper at Jellystone Park in Austin, Minnesota. We had wanted to get up to her all summer long, but our weekends are just so full that it's hard to get away. We decided we had nothing better to do that night or the next day so we got in the car and headed farther north - with nothing more than the clothes we had on for the day and our swimming suits. (and the 1 diaper that we had left!!). The boys were thrilled when we finally go there -- I may have put the wrong campground in the GPS and we may have taken the long way to get there, oops!
We made it by early evening and had plenty of time to have some fun before it got dark. We went for a paddle boat ride.
We may or may not have broken several rules -- including allowing the kids to switch boats in the middle of the lake. :)
Kammy's camper was parked right at the edge of a little pond that the kids had fun exploring and we even got to see a turtle swim around.
We went swimming and then ended the night with a campfire and campfire stories. The kids love Kammy's campfire stories. The next morning we got up for more fun -- including the train ride, playing at the parks and of course swimming.
My favorite part was playing on the different bikes they had. I think it's so fun to ride the "banana" bikes.
We did also stop for a few minutes to feed the goats on our way to the jumpy pillow.
I really didn't get very good pictures during this trip -- but I think it's because we were way too busy having fun. Of course the kids didn't want to get out of the pool or leave -- but we had to get home. It was a super busy couple days which ended with a quiet ride home...
Summer fun days are the best kind of days!!
