On July 1 we had Titus baptized in a private baptism at our church. The church does a large group baptism 4 times per year and the times never seemed to work for us and I also felt like I wanted a more personal baptism for him. We decided it would be special to do it on a day that Mark's mom was here too. So when we figured the dates she was coming Mark talked to our Pastor Ed and figured out a time that would work for him. Luckily the time worked for my mom and Mark's mom and our family of 5 so we went with it. It turned out to be a beautiful day - and a day that we will celebrate each and every year.
Pastor Ed did a great job explaining what a baptism is and what it means to Isaiah and Levi and the rest of us and then tried to hold Titus. Titus was in no way interested in being held by anyone but me, so we went with that too. Pastor Ed did his baptism and blessing over Titus and then Titus baptized Pastor Ed right back. :)
It was a very simple and short baptism, but very personal to our family and an exciting day for us. We are so thankful that we can raise our boys in a Christian home and celebrate the grace that God gave to us through Jesus.
