Easter Package.

Grandma Michele and Great Grandma Mary are so wonderful at sending us the boys packages for just about every holiday there is!  The boys are always so, so, so excited to get one in the mail and get so bummed when a package comes and it is something for the business.  They sent an Easter package that we received a few weeks before Easter but they just couldn't wait to open it up.  Of course they loved everything in it, but were extremely excited to eat the peeps on a stick.  Titus was very interested :)
Thank you so very much Grandma and Great Grandma!!

Birthday Card.

My dad has always cheered for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Mark was a big Hawkeye fan before he graduated from UNI and now he is more of a Panther fan, but still likes the Hawkeyes.  So our boys are huge Panther fans (mainly because we are able to attend Pather events) and know that the Cyclones are the team to beat :)  My sister and her husband graduated from Iowa State and my sister's husband is a huge Cyclone fan.  In preparation for our nieces birthday I had the boys paint birthday cards.  Isaiah was so excited to paint her a card with a picture of the cyclone football field.  He asked me to show him the Cyclone symbol and all.  His football field turned out great, don't you think?  When I asked him why he wanted to paint the Cyclone field he said something like "I wanted to paint her something that'd she'd really like, it doesn't matter that I don't like it."  So grown up, huh!?

brushing

In early March Titus became really interested in brushing his own teeth.  He just uses his little brush with no toothpaste, but sure feels like a big boy! :)

sledding!

Between Mark and I the boys got to go sledding several times this winter - Isaiah's school has a nice little hill that Mark took them sledding on a few times when I had to work late and we stayed after school a few times to sled too, but one day we went to a HUGE hill with our friends Chad, Erica, Caleb and Elise.  It was a blast

It was a nice "warm" day for the winter season and the sun was shining so it felt great to be outside!

We have quite the collection of sleds (which after this year is no longer the case -- lots of them cracked!) but many of them were from when I was a kid.  The boys loved that they were sledding on my old sleds!
We also had fun sharing our sleds with the others there so we had lots to try!
The kids mostly went down by themselves and then made the long walk back up with no complaints!
They tried all kinds of crazy moves (don't worry he sat down before going down the hill) and we all had lots of laughs.
Erica and I did manage to get on the sleds a couple times to go down with the kids.  It was tons of fun!

What a great way to spend the afternoon!

Kalahari Resort

Isaiah had a few days off school the end of February for conferences.  We all (especially me) were desperate to get away on vacation so Mark planned a great adventure to Kansas City to a indoor waterpark hotel/resort.  Of course when the time came there was a major blizzard going through Kansas City so we changed plans and headed north to the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.  Isaiah's school ended up having a snow day the day before we were set to leave so went for an extra day!  Everyone had a BLAST!  We all talk about it on a regular basis and look forward to going back soon!!  I made a Shutterfly
photo book of memories...I love it when I get a free photo book coupon!

lots and lots of snow.

We got lots and lots of snow late this winter.  So much snow day after day.  I am so thankful for my husband who snow blowed for us almost every time it came down.  Isaiah was often right outside with him playing with his trucks in the snow...Levi would go out for a few minutes but almost always come back in sooner than later.  Titus and I did go out too.  but here is a cute example of how one of the many days of snow looked.  Isaiah out playing, Levi inside in his favorite outfit (have I mentioned that Levi loves to wear footie jammies all day long but change into shorts to sleep in?) and Mark out working hard -- and talking to the neighbor.
Although the snow can be a really big pain and the big boys ended up with several snow days (I think Levi had at least 7 or 8 and Isaiah 4 or 5 and a few late starts), it really is a fun part of the year.
