Halloween

Isaiah and Levi were really looking forward to Halloween.  They had been talking about costumes for days and could taste all the candy while doing it :)

I was lucky enough to get to go help with Isaiah's class Halloween party - and walk through their school parade with them.  Isaiah is the Venom Spiderman in front (in black).
After school we came right home to get ready for trick-or-treating!  Titus had NO interest in wearing any of the costumes that we had for him (and we have at least 10!).  I finally got him to put on the airplane costume and go outside for a couple pictures, but he very quickly insisted that he take it off.
After digging through all of the costumes, Levi decided to put on the spiderman costume.  (The boys really did want to buy new costumes for this year, but without exaggeration we have at least 25 costumes that fit them so we decided to skip new this year)
Isaiah decided to keep his Venom Spiderman costume on (he had originally said he was going to put his GI Joe Ninja costume on after school)
Once Titus saw the 2 spidermans he wanted to be one too... thank goodness for a 3rd mask! (he refused the costume, just wanted the mask :)
Our first stop was great-grandma's Jo's house!  As always she had TONS of candy for the boys.

Next stop - trick-or-treating at HyVee :)
Then it was time for the real thing!
The boys were loving it -- running from house to house!  Isaiah was good about picking one piece and saying thank you -- Levi was good at distracting the person so he could make a second grab :)  Pretty sure he snuck double & triple pieces at just about every house.  Titus eventually slowed down so he made it to the stroller.
After a while we made a stop to grandma's house.
After a break, the boys were ready to go out again.  We drove back to our neighborhood and ran into friends and neighbors.
The kids were CRAZY excited to run into Viviane and Val.
And thought the huge spider was pretty cool, too!
Whew!  What a fun night -- it was time to head home to check out all the candy, have a piece, watch a halloween cartoon and head to bed!
And some spooky jammies -- (which are now still his favorite jammies, months after halloween -- he asks for his "spookies" all the time!)
Happy Halloween!

October Days

We spent our October days busy with lots of fun and enjoying our little family.  Here's a mix of pictures to show some of the highlights!

We hadn't had the Jeep out for most of the summer -- the battery was acting up and it wasn't going very fast and the boys got frustrated with it, but after playing on Evelyn's gator we got it out again.  It seemed to be working better again and it brought many hours of fun!
We visited my sister to celebrate her birthday.  We made a stop at their rec center's indoor park.
And then we stopped for a bite to eat -- let's just say things get crazy when you have 6 kids 7 and under :) (Kiara 12 months old, Titus 22 months, Elise 2, Liahna 4, Levi 5 and Isaiah 7).  We may have broken a plate and spilled syrup all over the floor, oops!
The boys continued to enjoy Awana each Wednesday night.  Levi sticking by his buddy Jonah.
One night Grandpa and Grandma invited the boys over to roast marshmellows - it happened to be the night Clifford got to come home with Isaiah.  He got to enjoy the fire and then Isaiah wrote his story about it to share with his class!
That same night Levi got to do one of his favorite things at their house - feed Flash!
And then a game of The Hungry Caterpillar.
Our local library had a Legopalooza event where they had TONS and TONS of legos set up for kids to play with.  Isaiah and I played a new Lego game and then he found some friends to build with.
Titus was WAY excited about the Lego Thomas the Train - he was willing to fight for it :) (literally -- sorry to the little kids who tried to take it from him! :)
Poor Levi was home with Mark with strep throat :(
We had lots of snuggles.  I can't get this picture to flip around, but I don't make it in many so I thought I'd better post it :)
These boys have spent lots of time in this tree.  Not the greatest picture, but its fun to see them being little boys in a tree!
Isaiah's school had a crazy hat day - Isaiah wore his Angry Birds, red bird hat.
Titus played lots and lots of choo choos.  The other boys really didn't have a big interest in trains but Titus LOVES them!
We continued to have fun park time after school.  As the days got colder, the hats and gloves came out...
We occasionally got smiles in the bathtub - usually it's fussing and whining and out as quickly as possible.
We have SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many leaves in our neighborhood.  Thank goodness for my dad and our friend Kyle who have tractors that can help us out.  Levi is in his footie jammies - he lives in the jammies, but puts shorts on to sleep :)
Levi (sort of) participated in the fall session of Kindergym.  He is always so excited to sign up and even on the way there, but almost always refuses to participate...oh Levi.  Isaiah loved going and always had fun with the activities (even though he was supposed to be sitting back watching!)
We went on a few family bike rides - love them!  Titus rides in the seat behind me and Levi on the tag-a-long.  Isaiah does a great job on his own!
Lots of flooding this year - we took a break to look at the flood water!
Another great month!
