July Fun with Friends

Who doesn't like to get out of the house and have some fun with friends and family?  The boys often will ask, "do we get to go somewhere today?" Especially by mid-July when the newness of summer is over and it's been lots of days home with mom and/or dad.  So here's a recap of some of the July fun with friends and family...

Our small group tried to meet a few times this summer for fun family outings - it usually ended up being the mom's with all the kids - but hey, that's fun too!  Here we are at Burger King taking advantage of their 50¢ ice cream cones after a hot evening playing miniature golf.
and here are the boys before the ice cream playing miniature golf.

We had lots of park time this summer!  Our favorite is River Hills park.  Here are a couple pictures of one day at the park.
We did got see Dan Wardell when he came to the local library - it was fun to see a "tv star" in person!  The kids liked the sweet flashlights that they got after his presentation too :)
We had a fun time visiting our friends Laura, Jayda, Jonah, Silas and Meira at their house.  The boys love to visit them - so much to explore!  They don't mind the ATV rides that Grandma Brody gives either :)
We also spent an afternoon enjoying our friends Jennifer, Viviane, Valentina, Victor and Veronica along with Erin, Zoe and Luke!
We had new neighbors move in at the beginning of summer - they are a big hit at our house!  It's a couple probably a few years younger than Mark & me and their 1 year old daughter.  Drew has a really kid friendly personality and loves to play with the kids in the yard.  He kept promising them smores so one night he made it happen!  The boys were sooooooo excited :)
And there's nothing like a Grandma and a Great Aunt to spoil the boys.  Several times this summer I had heard the ice cream man going around our neighborhood.  I never mentioned what it was and the boys never asked so we just left it at that.  Well one day my mom and her sister were coming to visit as the ice cream man was going around the neighborhood.  They were quick to ask the boys if they knew what it was and once they told them the boys insisted that we track it down for a treat!  Grandma spoiled the boys with whatever treat they wanted.  Levi picked a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Isaiah picked an Ironman.
Hooray for fun summer days!!
