We all woke up around 8 on Monday morning - we had decided somewhere around 4am that we wouldn't be making it to Epcot first thing in the morning (I think - if I remember right!). The boys had a bath and enjoyed a little Disney channel - we don't have cable at home so it was a treat for them!
Levi decided to get up and go explore outside. :)
By about 10, we decided to take the day to get feeling better and stay an extra day to get all of our Disney adventures in. Isaiah was ready to get out of the hotel room and just about back to his normal self, so Mark, Michele and Isaiah went exploring (and to do some laundry!) while Levi and I took a nap.
They walked over to the Polynesian resort - about a 10 minute walk - and rented a little speed boat.
They were able to take the boat all around the lagoon to see several fancy Disney resorts. Below is the Contemporary Resort.
...and the Grand Floridian.
They also looked around the Polynesian and found some fun things.
Then they came to check on Levi and me. Levi was still sleeping! He took about a 4 hour nap! We then got ready and went to the pool. They had a Mickey shaped pool and then a big wading pool. The wading pool was wonderful for the boys. It was huge but at its deepest was upto Isaiah's waste.
We met a little chatter box, but she left shortly after we got there.
After the pool, Mark decided that we needed to go get something to eat. We got out to the bus stop and found all kinds of police officers and hotel employees directing people to the edge of the hotel. We ended up watching the FBI and the bomb squad show up. Isaiah played with his new crocodile in the grass while we waited. Our bus came and took us away, but the next morning the hotel sent everyone a letter saying they received a suspicious package, but after opening it they found it was just a bunch of auto parts magazines! A little ironic since they were having a huge anti-terrism military conference while we were there!
We took the bus to Downtown Disney and decided to eat at Planet Hollywood.
We enjoyed looking at all of the movie memoribilia that was all around. Isaiah was excited to show me the huge Woody.
And after walking through all 3 levels with Levi he decided that the heads from "Beetlejuice" were his favorite thing. We ended up going back to see them a few times! silly boy.
The food was great and we all felt much better after eating!
We walked around downtown and Levi LOVED the Buzz Lightyear statue.
and Isaiah loved the Lego land. Unfortunately the huge Lego land was closed because they are making it bigger, but had a temporary tent set up. He didn't care. He spent a LONG time doing this!
This is my favorite picture from the evening. Isn't it just beautiful there?
Back on the bus - we made sure we knew what we were doing this time and how to get home!
Tired little Isaiah fell asleep on the ride home.
It was definitely a bummer that we got sick, but it allowed us to do all of these things that we wouldn't have gotten to do otherwise! By the evening we were all feeling so much better that it really worked out just fine.
